Eve-ism

The kids LOVE "The Treasure Chest Store" - aka Hy-Vee. It's funny when they say it fast, it sounds like "trailer trash store" lol Anyways, at this grocery store there is a treasure chest, and if the kids behaved thru the whole store, then they are allowed to go thru the chest and pick out a toy. Sometimes they have candy, but they know they aren't allowed to pick treats out. So yesterday I took Eve there, and while I was checking out, she was digging thru the treasures. She picked out sunglasses for her, and a little back scratcher for Dad. When we got home, Ryan came out to help unload the truck, and Eve was so excited to show him that she picked out something for him, "Daddy! I got you a scratch backer!"

Then today, Eve's up in the cupboard looking for cake stuff (sprinkles, candles, etc) and finds a box of toothpicks. "Mom! You have a whole box of 'done checkers'!" lol The other day, I showed her how to check the zucchini bread (aka "bikini bread" is what Eve calls it) with a toothpick to see if it was done or not.

I love that little girl and her words!

Derrick-ism

So, I'm down at the bus stop picking up Dirk from school...

D - MOM! I got a phone number today!

M - Oh yeah? Who from? (I'm thinking from his little buddy in his class)

D - Hannah (with a smirk on his face)

M - WHAT!?

D - Yeah. She liked my fruit punch I had today. So she's going to come over and drink fruit punch with me. (He proceeds to read off her phone number to me)

Is it bad that I want to keep that piece of paper in his baby book - it's the first phone number he got from a girl! lol And she's blonde. Go figure. That boy and blondes.

Happy Birthday, Uncle Scottie!

In honor of Uncle Scotties last year in his 20s,

we had a photo shoot with Victor dressed as Uncle Scottie.

and he bends over and peeks at you :o)

Oh this kid is so goofy!

Every day he makes us laugh.

He and Eve are so much alike,

which is probably why they fight like cats and dogs.

We went garage saling the other day,

and he found a bag of toys for a dime!

(Pretty sure they had that marked wrong

as one of them was Venom, a few Power Rangers,

and this one - a TRANSFORMER!)
