Happy Birthday, Derrick!

Happy 4th Birthday, Dirkie!!

Birth

1 year old

2 years old

3 years old

4 years old!

We're making cupcakes with SpongeBob liners and colored frosting. Then we'll head over to Applebee's where Derrick said, "Mommy's Applebee's friends are going to sing Happy Birthday to me!" He's excited. He wants his presents too :o)

Gran and Grandpa called and told him that they mailed his present. So Derrick ran to the front door and looked out on our porch to the mailbox. However, we have all our boxes from previous shipments out there, and his eyes got HUGE! He asked Gran "Is the REALLY big one my birthday present?!?"

I'll post more pics of the day later today or tomorrow, but here is one picture from each year so far :o)

Ok, we went to Applebee's this afternoon. Derrick got a kick out of them singing to him. He also couldn't stand waiting to open his presents. Once he opened them up, he put them in a box and was heading for the door, saying, "We're going home now so I can watch my new Diego movie." We hadn't even received our food yet :o) He now has all four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Splinter and Shredder. Every person he saw he made sure to tell them it was his birthday today. He was so excited. Too cute.

Jumping

I love to jump, jump, jump, jump and jump some more! It's my most favoritest thing to do in the whole world! I also got some new shoes. I love my Dora shoes. I love to JUMP in my Dora shoes!

Today, Mommy and Daddy had a meeting, so Derrick and I went to our neighbor's house. It was sooooo fun! All the girls chased us around for about an hour. We were so tired when we got home! I also love my Strawberry Shortcake clips for my hair. I'm learning to keep them in longer, without ripping them out. I lasted 1 hour today :o)

Mommy and Daddy took Evie and me up to the "Puppy Store" to get a fishie for my birthday! I think they want to get me a fish so I learn how to take care of him, and not give him a glass of milk to drink. Bcuz then he'd get dead like my other fishie. I didn't know fishies can't have milk. Only water. But they didn't have the kind I can have, so we have to wait. I want Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles instead for my birthday!

A few days ago, Ryan and I were in the truck with the kids and Derrick told us that he was going to drive our truck when he turns 6. We said, "No, not until you are 16." Derrick just said, "Oh. Ok." Wouldn't it be nice if all conversations went like that. I thought we'd get an argument out of it or something, but he just accepted it. Hopefully. I guess we'll find out in two years :o)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! Looks more like Christmas outside than Easter. We got a pretty good dusting of snow the last few days. Wish I could take the kids outside and just let them run around. They're starting to get naughty again. I gave them baths this morning, went downstairs and when I got back upstairs, they had squirted out 4 bottles of my skin care. I was so mad! Derrick knows better not to touch my stuff, we've had numerous talks about that. Time to hunker down and get a house with a yard. Can't stand it any more! :o) Well, not much else is new. We bought the kids some hopper balls for their Easter gifts, but our pump is missing the needle, so not sure how we are going to fill them up yet :o) Figured it would be a nice easy way of getting them to use up that stored energy!

You know what? I was due with Derrick 4 years ago today! How crazy is that? (I so don't miss being preggo at all!) It seems like not that long ago, yet it seems like it's been longer. Derrick will be turning 4 here shortly. I can't believe how big he is getting. He's so smart. More than I'd like him to be sometimes :o) I definitely think preschool would have been a good thing these coming months, but he'll have fun next year, when Eve can go also!

My Little Dinosaurs/Monsters

Sorry the videos are dark...

Is it Spring yet?

I got home from work early today, so I took the kids outside and let them RUN around for awhile. They loved being outside. They have a few outdoor toys with wheels, so they enjoyed pushing them around. Although I've come to realize how much we need a backyard with a fence, so I can just send them outside with the dog to play. I've been looking at homes around the area, but they are 2x the price they are back in Wisconsin :o( Maybe I can convince Ryan that moving back to Wisconsin is a good thing - 3x the land for the same price as around here! Plus to be closer to home would be awesome, for the kids to see Mom and Dad more often (and maybe for Ryan and I to get a night off every few weeks! he he he)

Alrighty - check the visitor counter - 7000 is very near! Everyone else should sign the guest book too - I'd love to see how's all checking in on us!

Names

Mom - "Hey, Evie. What's your name?"

Evie - "Evie Zelda-rust."

Mom - "What's Mommy's name, Eve?"

Evie - "Mommy Zelda-rust."

Derrick - "No it's not, Evie. It's Carrie Zeldenrust. Right Mommy? You're Carrie."

Evie - "NO! Mommy's Mommy Zelda-rust."

:o)

I love having conversations with kids :o)

Last night, Ryan said Derrick woke up about 230am. Ryan and our friend Nate were downstairs watching a movie. Derrick stood at the top of the stairs and talked about how "Daddy is a red dinosaur. And he's a good dinosaur because he can touch both walls like this (puts one hand on each wall) at the beach." Ryan was like, "Ok Buddy. Now go back to bed, Mommy's sleeping." So Derrick thought about it for a second, and went back to bed.

I asked Ryan if he was sleep walking again. He thought he might have been. I wonder when he's going to outgrow the sleepwalking???

However, tonight when we were putting the kids to bed, Derrick retold that story of the dinosaur at the beach touching both walls. I couldn't believe how he remembered it all!

Speaking of dinosaurs, Eve is afraid of dinosaurs and monsters. Lately she gets scared very easily, usually from noises of our renters. Not big noises, but you can hear them when they run up the stairs and down their hallway and it makes it sound like they are in our hallway. She'll come running to me whimpering about monsters. So we're teaching her to stand up to her fears, and to tell the monsters to "Go da way!" in Evie's language (Go away! in Big People language). She so cute, she'll come running up to me, I'll have to hold her, and she'll point her little finger up to the hallway and tell the "monster" to Go Da Way! Girls are so much different to raise already than a boy. Derrick got over his fear of dinosaurs within 2 weeks. Eve has been going on for a few months now. :o(

G & Papa's House

Evie and I got to go to G and Papa's house again! G took us to an egg hunt for Easter, that was neat. But afterwards we got into a car accident :o( That's our second time in a car accident in about 5 months! We are all fine, just a good fender bender. We were going really slow, so G's car only got a little ouie, unlike Mommy and Daddy's truck that had a big, big ouie.

I played outside at Papa's house for 3 hours! It was sooo much fun! I just love being outside. Evie came outside for a little while, but then she had to go take a nap.

New Friends

Daddy wanted to play basketball today, so Mommy asked her friend, Mrs. "Coats-on-seenie" (Kovaciny) if we could play at her house. WE HAD SOOOO MUCH FUN! Vianna is 5, Simon is 4 and Tavia is almost 2. See all our pics at their house - it was great! I like my new friends!

Here are three conversations I had with Mrs. Coats-on-seenie:

Trying to take a picture of Derrick and Simon playing together...

Mrs. K - "Ok Derrick, can you smile?"
D- "No, I only smile at home."

Mrs. K - "Hey Derrick, do you want a brownie?"
D- "No, I will have one at home when my mom makes them."

D- "Hey look, a big pony!"
Mrs. K - "Yeah! Isn't she cute!?"
D- "No."

Dry

I haven't worn diapers at all for three days! I am a big girl at nighttime, too! I woke up three times now all dry, I didn't go potty in my big girl bed!! Mommy was very excited and I got big hugs, and she tried to kiss my cheeks, but I don't like kisses lately.

Mommy and Daddy also bought Dirkie and me some fun cereals - they have all the colors in them are circles. Mmmm. They taste better than my Cheerios!

We were very good yesterday for Daddy when Mommy was gone. Derrick played like a big boy downstairs and didn't touch the fish tank, just his toys. When I was done eating, I told Daddy I was tired and we went upstairs so I could lay down and take a nap.

We got a whole bunch of presents in the mail, too! Dirkie and I have new "fishy food" as we call them - they are like fruit snacks with some fish oils in them, and they are soooo yummy! We haven't had any for a long time because Derrick ate 1/2 a bag of them and Mommy wouldn't order any more :o( Naughty Dirkie! We also got some more "juice" - some energy drink syrup we like. Mommy said it's good for us since it has lots of vitamins, I don't care if it's good for us or not, it tastes soooo good I want it all the time! But Mommy said only for breakfast. Oh, and we got new crackers too. In little bags. I like those. I get to have my own bag, and Dirkie gets his own. Sometimes we share, but sometimes we don't like to :o)

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Mitch! My Godson turned 9 years old yesterday! I can't believe how old he's getting :o)

Evie also had a great night! I ran out of diapers and decided to do a no-diaper night. She woke up totally dry! Our shipment of diapers comes in tomorrow or Wednesday, maybe I should have saved the $50 and go cold turkey at nighttime. Ok, maybe not. :o) I'm sure she'll be fine, and we'll use them as backups for G and Papa's house, and in the truck.
