On Tuesday, all six of us ran up to Como Zoo for the Applebee's Employee Appreciation Day. The kids had fun :D

Boys Will Be Boys

This is what happens when you leave a husband in charge of four kids; the two boys were wrestling. If they do this much damage at age 7 and 2, what will my house look like when they are teenagers?

"Poop Plant" Visit

I asked Bob, the guy who took over Dad's position with the city, if he would be willing to open a manhole for the kids so they could see inside. It's something I've been meaning to do with Dad for the last few years, but every time we'd go to do it, we'd get sidetracked with looking at construction sites instead. Dirk thinks the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live in them :D Anyways, after looking down a HUGE manhole, Steve and the Wastewater Facility aka Poop Plant gave a tour of the plant to the kids. It was fun watching them hold their noses, even though some of the areas didn't smell lol

Mom - Eve, did you know Michelle, who's house you went to while we were at G's house, is a real princess? - Michelle is Jr Miss Star Prairie - I then showed her a pic of Michelle in her dress and crown.

Mother's Day at the Spa

Dirk's class had us mommies come in for a hour of pampering. It was REALLY fun - I got my nails painted, each hand a different color - Had cookies and ice tea - Made a project - Played a game - Went for a few swings on the swingset, it was cold, so we didn't last long - And had a photo shoot. One my favorite memories made so far :D There is another picture but my scanner isn't working. So I'll post that one later.

We had our friend, Paula, take the kids' pics down at Tourtelotte. It was HOT. But the kids did fine. Paula was even able to "fix" one of the pics to make it perfect :D

On Tuesday we met Uncle Scottie, Auntie Sarah and G up at Culver's. Funny - we all went to a different Culver's :D lol We had fun celebrating Uncle Scottie's oldness - Happy 30th :D

The day after Gran passed away...

Eve came running upstairs - "We're having a party downstairs, Mom!
Mom - "Oh yeah? What's the party for?"
Eve - "We're celebrating that Gran is in Heaven!"

Gran

It's been quiet around here, but I hope that changes soon - I have so many things saved up - all the kids' "isms" - to catch you up on :D

Gran passed away on Thursday, May 12 from cancer. She fought long and hard over the last 7 years, and we couldn't be more proud of her. She will be deeply missed by us all. It doesn't seem real, just like it doesn't seem real that Dad is gone also.

Luv you, Gran. You were more than just a mother-in-law to me, you were one of my best friends and I already miss talking to you on the phone every few hours.
